And the winner is...

Rubik's Cube - the final!

Luke and Matt faced off against each other on the last day of term. Mr Hall made the best of 5 final series as tricky as possible by making Matt and Luke use brand new Cubes AND by scrambling the two cubes in the same way! The next post will reveal the winner!

Rubik's Cube - Are you up to the challenge?

It's become apparent that there's a new craze in town...or in school, at least! The Rubik's cube made its first appearance over 30 years ago (!) and its massively popular here at Moorside right now.

In my previous post I asked who would win the 'Cube Off' between Luke (Y7) and Mr Hall...well, I can tell you that the winner was...

...Luke! By quite a long way (sorry Mr Hall).

Anyway, this lunch time Luke gave Mr Hall and a few other students some tips on how they could complete the Rubik's Cube quickly so I guess we'll have to wait and see how they all get on.

It's a 'Cube Off!' - who will win?

PLLC pet, Sid Stickenstein, gets even bigger!

Arts and Crafts Club

After school on Wednesdays means only 1 thing in the PLLC - Arts and Crafts Club!

Club members have been finishing off a project that involved them researching an artist and creating a piece of work based on that artist's style. We'll be displaying the finished pieces soon - so keep your eyes peeled.

Next up club members will be helping to transform the PLLC into a wild west saloon for USA Day on the last day of term. They've come up with some fab ideas (including making 'Wanted' posters, cow hides and 3D cacti!). Can't wait to get cracking on with that.

PLLC Reward trip

We'd be trying to think of a cool way to reward our star PLLC library users for a while and then it came to us...why not take them on a trip to Seven Stories Centre for Children's Books and the fab new library in Newcastle City Centre?

So off we went last Friday. What a fab day! At Seven Stories we had a great time talking about books that we enjoyed, trying on all sorts of different costumes and hats and the students even got to choose a book from the book shop!

We got an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at Newcastle's brand new city library - as well as getting to see all of the public areas we even got treated to a sneaky peek around the staff areas that people don't normally see.
